Music Video Pitch/ Feedback

Feedback;

My group found this video feedback section useful as we we're able to gather opinions from other media students, which allowed us to listen to constructive criticism and make adjustments on the elements of our music video which may not be clear to the audience.

They also gave us suggestions for shoots such as brick lane, they believe as it’s a urban environment it correlates well to the genre of our music and would allow us to create and urban tone and portray to the audience our genre of music. Other suggestion we also received were train stations and abandon houses which they believe merged well with slow tempo’d instrumental.

They were uncertain with theme of our video; we explain it will be a performance based video with elements of clips throughout, while following a narrative structure in order to portray our abstract ideas of how we translate the lyrical content into a visual peace.

 They said we do not need a studio and using a derelict area would suit the context of our video more appropriately as it would allow us to create an urban tone as it relates better to our genre of alternative hip hop. This will allow us to express our abstract concepts to the audience and enable us to be more creative with our preparation when brainstorming the different sections of our video.

They didn’t understand the reference we stated regarding the Ku Klux Klan, basically during our preparation we looked at various videos and how they appeal to the audience.  One of the videos watched was the Kanye west black skin head video where the beginning scene was shot with a blackout Ku Klux Klan outfit. The idea of building tension through the first scene and be able to grasp the audience attention, I found was significant compare to other videos and is a method I would look to incorporate into our video.
